Professor Against Massachusetts Governor Patrick's Land Casino Proposal |
|
The Massachusetts land casino proposal is at the forefront of focus for most online casino gambling groups in the United States because of a small clause that would criminalize internet gambling for Massachusetts citizens. The PPA has already announced that the group plans to fight Governor Patrick’s bill that would not only bring three land casinos to the state but would also make online casino gambling a criminal activity in the state. Beyond the PPA though, a Harvard group of academics and students, the Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society (GPSTS) has planned a rally tomorrow to demand that the politicians acknowledge who actually wrote Governor Patrick’s proposal and to protest the anti-online casinos and internet poker gambling clause.
The GPSTS was formed at Harvard Law School and is specifically formed to support poker in all forms (that means land poker and online casinos poker gambling) as a way to develop and hone strategic thinking strategies. Charles Nesson is the Harvard Law professor backing the GPSTS and he plans to really demand that the legislators reveal who wrote the land casinos proposal – Governor Patrick’s representatives allege that they did not pen the proposal and many speculate that the land casinos interested in the new Massachusetts gambling industry played a part in the proposals writing and specifics.
The PPA and GPSTS assert that the proposal just makes no sense in the fact that it criminalizes online casino and internet poker gambling, yet greatly expands the state’s land gambling activities. The proposal is very hypocritical and “nonsensical” remarks Nesson. The public hearing and rally will take place in front of the Massachusetts statehouse tomorrow and those in attendance can be sure that Nesson and other prominent supporters of online casinos and internet poker gambling will be there to support the rally against Patrick’s proposal. |
