In an industry that praises the two top online casinos software developers above all the rest, Playtech is coming right up in popularity and respect. Playtech is based in the Isle of Man and offers a variety of internet software for various sectors of the internet gambling industry. In addition to growing in popularity in Europe, Playtech has effectively moved into emerging Asian markets and has not been slowed down at all by the 2006 online casinos gambling ban in the United States. 2007 in fact was a great year for Playtech – the company has released fourth quarter results that indicate that the company performed above expectations and continued to generate significant revenue. As the online casinos industry explodes in Europe and other countries, Playtech is finding an increasing number of companies looking for quality, respected, and reasonably priced software. The company’s fourth quarter results showed month on month revenue increases – which is actually in line with the company’s performance throughout 2007. In addition, the company’s online casinos gaming software performed outstandingly well with a 72 percent increase in revenue in just the fourth quarter alone. The majority of Playtech’s major software licensees are located in Europe and offer service to European players, but that doesn’t mean that Playtech isn’t also performing well in Asia. Playtech has a firm foothold in the emerging Asian online casinos industry and though that portion of licensees does not generate a majority of the company’s revenue, it still performs very well.
