Online Casino Payment Processor Temporarily Offline
Making news for positive reasons instead of the negativity that was rampant in the media several months ago, Neteller has announced that it will perform maintenance on the site and thus be unavailable to online casino and other e-commerce customers who frequently use the site. Neteller was heavily involved in the U.S.’s prosecution of online casinos operating in the U.S. after the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA).

Neteller has expanded into new markets offering payment processing services to online casinos (in countries that have specifically legalized internet gambling) and in general to other companies involved in e-commerce.

The company has announced plans for scheduled maintenance and enhancements on December 12, 2007. The company’s Web site has warned customers and account holders that the site will be down in the wee hours of the morning (EDT) – from 3:00am through 6:00am. Customers interested in signing up for a Neteller account cannot do so between those hours, but the company plans to have the site fully functional before and after the scheduled suspension of service.

This note is of particular importance to online casinos players, located all over the globe, who use Neteller’s services and may be alarmed that no transactions will process for that three hour period of time.
